Welcome to Fortuna
With over 30 years of experience, we supply a diverse range of high-quality sawn redwood and whitewood, sourced from reputable and established sawmills in Northern Europe. Our products are tailored to meet the specific needs of importers across the MENA markets, ensuring consistent quality and reliability.
The slow growth of trees in Scandinavia’s cold climate results in dense, strong, and durable timber, perfect for construction and fine woodworking.
We specialize in supplying high-quality wood products to the joinery and construction industries, as well as to builders’ merchants. As a versatile and sustainable resource, wood stands out as the only fully renewable construction material.
Spruce is a key material in our product range, widely used in load-bearing structures, including roof trusses, floor systems, and external walls. Pine, on the other hand, is ideal for interior applications such as furniture, windows, doors, staircases, and flooring, as well as for exterior uses like decking, jetties, and fencing.
At fortuna, we are committed to providing durable and renewable wood solutions that meet the diverse needs of our industry partners.

Spruce/whitewood (Picea abies)
-
Spruce wood exhibits a color range from creamy white to light yellow and red-brown. Its heartwood is not distinctly separated from the sapwood, giving it a uniform appearance. The wood is straight-grained with a smooth, even texture and has medium density, making it both strong and versatile. It is also known for its excellent strength properties, which, combined with its ease of sawing, machining, gluing, jointing, and assembling, make it highly practical for various applications.
Spruce, or whitewood, is predominantly used as structural timber in studs and beams, suitable for both indoor and outdoor environments. It is the most widely used building and construction timber in Europe. Beyond structural applications, spruce is ideal for interior construction, external joinery, carpentry, furniture making, external paneling, facades, flooring, doors, and packaging. Swedish sawmills typically provide sawn timber in standard dimensions but are also capable of supplying timber in custom sizes to meet specific needs.

Pine/redwood (Pinus sylvestris)

Redwood features a yellowish-white sapwood and a distinctly reddish heartwood, with a clear distinction between the two. Its fine texture results from slow growth, and the large red knots add a decorative appeal to the timber. Redwood is soft with a medium density, and it offers good strength properties, making it an excellent material to work with. The wood is easily sawn and machined.
Pine/redwood (Pinus sylvestris) is commonly used for joinery, interiors, and decorative applications, including doors, windows, flooring, and indoor paneling, as well as for furniture. Additionally, it serves as both structural and non-structural building and construction timber. Swedish sawmills typically supply sawn timber in standard dimensions but are also equipped to deliver custom-sized timber to meet specific requirements.
